I don't think we ever set out to travel for a living. In reality, we do not travel for a living, rather we travel to reach the children for whom we are passionate about advocating.
But in the beginning of our marriage, when my sweet husband was an airline pilot, there was a lot of traveling for travel-saque. Costa Rica, Ireland, Mexico, Grand Cayman...but then we accidentally fell into something much larger than our traveling, adventuresome hearts could fathom.
We documented an international adoption.
After spending a short afternoon inside of a Bulgarian orphanage for handicapped children our lives were forever changed.
Now we spend more than half of our year out of the country, usually in developing countries. The days of traveling for leisure to exotic lands are of the past (yet I'm still praying we can get a vacation soon!), and the days of traveling to uncomfortable places are before us. We get sick, we miss home, we pain, but we love it. We've seen too much of the orphan crisis to turn our backs and go back to the days of old. We don't judge people who live differently that us, in fact we wholeheartedly believe in empowering and inspiring people to be who God made them to be and are not about convincing people to live like we do.
This specific Travel Log will be where you'll find bits and pieces of our journey that you won't see on The Archibald Project. In fact, this is completely separate from T.A.P, this is me, my voice, my journey as a Spirit chasing believer, passionate wife and loyal friend. I might post stories from the past or current endeavors, so really you never know what you'll find. But I do promise you this: to share bits of the world you might not know about, to bring you fun memories and exciting adventures from abroad AND to share about how God is moving in a world that is much bigger than we could ever fathom!
So thanks for joining the ride, I hope it's a fun one!
